SUPPORTING START-UPS

Empowering Start-ups in the Middle East under the EIB Support

WellAdvisedCo was honoured to collaborate with INTEGRATION International Management Consultants GmbH (Frankfurt) under the Innovation Support Programme for the Southern Neighbourhood (ISP-SN), financed by the European Investment Bank (EIB) through the Economic Resilience Initiative (ERI).

This Technical Assistance programme aims to support, through leading institutions in Europe, the public and private sectors, as well as financial intermediaries, through capacity building, identification, preparation and implementation of collaborative projects with the Southern Neighbourhood (ISP-Southern Neighbourhood) – Middle East and North Africa (MENA) region – and includes Egypt, Jordan, Morocco and Tunisia. The beneficiaries are regional incubators, science and technology parks and other similar organisations in these countries, as well as their entrepreneurs and start-ups. The expected outcomes of the ISP-SN include strengthening the capacity of beneficiary incubators and staff specialised in science/technology and resident entrepreneurs, providing new support services to start-ups, increasing the number of start-ups in high-tech sectors and their preparation to raise investment rounds, and creating highly skilled jobs.

In the context of this project, one of our innovation consultants led and operationalised workshops focused on:

  • Innovation Ecosystem Development
  • Innovation Strategy and Management
  • Intellectual Property (IPR)

These workshops targeted innovation support organisations and start-ups with high growth potential to replicate ecosystem development models for commercial exploitation. We provided advice on the implementation and sustainability of effective business development services, supporting start-ups’ continued growth, scaling, market acquisition, and internationalisation strategies.

Specifically, the partnership was with the ShamalStart accelerator, created by Luminus Technical University College (LTUC) and later renamed Jordan Start, the leading start-up accelerator in Jordan. The WellAdvisedCo consultant provided mentoring and coaching to two Jordanian start-ups:

  • Mrayti is an e-commerce platform specialising in beauty and personal care products, offering a wide range of cosmetics and hair and skin products.
  • 360Moms is a comprehensive portal that provides resources and support for mothers in the Arab world. It covers topics from pregnancy to parenting, with articles, videos, and expert advice.

These start-ups received strategic guidance through personalised action plans to optimise operations, expand their market presence and explore internationalisation opportunities.
