Intelligent System for Geospatially Enabled Process Management System

We helped conceptualize a software solution for an “Intelligent System for Spatially Enabled Processes Management” to support companies and government entities managing territory-related processes. We did it for a consortium formed by a company, INESC TEC and the University of Porto.

The project “SIGIPRO – Intelligent System for Enabled GeoSpatially Process Management” had as its primary objective to develop a new application solution using Artificial Intelligence (AI) for the Management of enabled GeoSpatially Processes that could support companies and government entities that deal with the management of processes linked to the territory.

SIGIPRO currently allows user-assisted operation in managing complex processes, their attributes, automatic modelling and decision-making using graphical reports to construct forecast scenarios.

The consortium was led by company Expandindustria SA, and with INESC TEC – Institute of Systems and Computer Engineering, Technology and Science (Center for Information Systems and Computer Graphics (CSIG) and the Artificial Intelligence Laboratory (AI) and Decision Support (LIAAD)), and by the University of Porto (Sciences Faculty), which together brought technical and scientific skills in AI for its development.

We contributed to a significant leap with the SIGIPRO project, where we advised the consortium and developed the application process for a very competitive competition for EU/ERDF R&D funds (Norte 2020), having been successful and achieving first place in the evaluation.

This consortium R&D project was co-financed by the EU/ERDF R&D funds with 577 thousand Euros.
